Pre Tan Prep
Exfoliate your skin the night before. This promotes an
even coverage and lengthens the duration of your tan by removing
dead skin that would otherwise flake off. Do not injure the skin
by overdoing it.
Wax a minimum of 24 hours before your tanning appointment.
OR
Shave 8 hours before or after post tanning shower. Use
a sharp, clean razor, with a lubricating product (such as hair
conditioner, which should be rinsed off).
Remove or avoid wearing make-up and moisturizer as this
acts as a barrier to the spray and stops the process from working
properly.
Wear dark, loose fitting clothing and undergarments to
your tanning appointment. The cosmetic bronzer may rub off on
clothing. It will wash out of most fabrics but may stain nylons,
lycra and silks.
Post Tan Maintenance
Wait at least 8 to 12 hours before washing.
Apply moisturizer morning and evening after your post-tan
shower. Avoid moisturizers with the AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) because
they promote exfoliation.
Avoid long, hot showers and baths, and scrubbing the
skin. If you use a wash cloth when bathing, choose one that is
as soft as possible. Pat your skin dry after bathing and showering.
Excessive friction on the skin may fade your skin prematurely.
Chlorine in swimming pools and hot tubs can remove or
shorten the longevity of your tan.
Take care when exercising as friction and excess sweat
may cause your tan to fade prematurely or unevenly.
FAQ’s
How does it work?
The amino acids in the skin will respond naturally to the DHA
and the other complimentary ingredients in the tanning formulas
to produce the most beautiful sunless tan you’ve ever seen.
How long should my tan last?
The average result is 7 to 10 days of color.
Is it safe?
Yes. The main ingredient in our sunless tanning products is known
as dihydroxyacetone (DHA). DHA is a simple non-toxic sugar. It
is often derived from plant sources such as sugar beets and sugar
cane. DHA is FDA approved.
How long does a session take?
A full body session will approximately take 10 to 20 minutes.
Does a spray tan provide SPF protection?
No. Spray tans do not provide any sunscreen protection, so
you should apply sunscreen accordingly. Your skin will appear
tanned, even though it is not. This is an artificial tan so if
you choose to expose your skin to UV rays either from the sun
or a tanning bed, it is important to use a lotion with SPF to
protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays.
What is the advantage of a spray tan over UV tanning?
Airbrush tanning is an alternative form of tanning. People
with sensitive skin or people who have a hard time tanning, be
it natural or tanning beds will find this form of tanning very
comforting. One application with airbrush tanning will be equivalent
to approximately 6 tanning bed sessions, there for making it cost
effective. Airbrush tanning also spares the skin of excessive
wear and tear along as well as free from potential burns caused
by the sun or tanning beds.
